Howard Sowell

CEO

Howard Sowell has over 25 years of experience in real estate development and financial management. He began his career in construction management and transitioned into banking and finance as Regional Underwriter in Commercial Real Estate for First Horizon. Nearly 10 years ago, Howard became passionate about bringing all of his skill sets together to support the education industry through developing and financing charter schools. Since beginning in the education industry, Howard has financed nearly $500 million in facility loans and been involved in the development of close to 1MM square feet of facilities for charter schools throughout the southeast.

Howard brings a solutions-based approach to the advancement of education. He has specialized experience in business development, school site selection, facilities design and development, financial services through debt and equity placement, and education support. Howard has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Arizona and a Master of Business Administration from Drake University. Howard also serves on the board of Hogs and Rags, an eastern North Carolina charity motorcycle ride.

Ebbi Sowell

Director of Marketing and Communications

Ebbi Sowell is the Director of Marketing and Communications for Legacy Funding Services. Her goal is to enhance the brand awareness and reach of this passionate team of professionals and to position Legacy Funding Services as a leader in the charter school finance and development industry. To this end, she has daily oversight of the website, social media, and print marketing. Ebbi has a broad range of experience, from working with large non-profits in Washington, D.C., to small start-ups in San Diego.

Ebbi is an international speaker, marketing professional, and proud graduate of the University of Virginia (with distinction). Most importantly, she is the happily married mother of an energetic one-year-old daughter. After years of traveling and living across the country and abroad, she now calls Raleigh her home.

Myya Davis

Executive Assistant

Myya Davis is an Executive Assistant at Legacy Funding Services. She guides projects from start to finish and is the behind-the-scenes organizing force in the office. She is naturally deadline-driven, and she uses this talent to help keep the team on task and on schedule.

Myya received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Shaw University. She is especially proud of her minor in accounting. She made the Dean’s List all four years and is a member of the National Honor Society.
